What is a PREVIZ file? A PREVIZ file is a 3D film storyboard created by FrameForge Storyboard Studio. It contains binary data that FrameForge translates into shots and scenes. PREVIZ files can be opened only in FrameForge Storyboard Studio.

These 3D storyboards are referred to as previsualizations. FrameForge saves users' previsualization projects as PREVIZ files. A user can open a PREVIZ file in FrameForge to see and play the shots it contains, and edit those shots as needed. Users can also export the storyboard a PREVIZ file contains as an .HTML file, a series of images, or a slideshow. NOTE: FrameForge Storyboard Studio uses a variety of related but slightly-distinct PREVIZ file formats. For example, a macOS user can save PREVIZ files in a Mac-only file format, a cross-platform file format, or a version 2 file format.

How to open a PREVIZ file
You can open a PREVIZ file in FrameForge Storyboard Studio (Windows, Mac). To do so, select File → Open... from the program's menu bar. Then, navigate to and open your PREVIZ file. Note that if your PREVIZ file was created on a different platform (e.g. you are a Windows user and your PREVIZ file was created on macOS), it may not open in your version of FrameForge Storyboard Studio.
