What is a DDI file? A DDI file is a disk image created by Micro System Designs DiskDupe. It contains a copy of a floppy disk's contents. While all versions of DiskDupe saved floppy disk images as DDI files, different versions saved DDI files with slightly different formats.
More Information DiskDupe was an MS-DOS and Windows program that allowed users to create backup copies of their floppy disks' contents. When saved to a file, these disk images were saved as DDI files. To create a DDI file, DiskDupe users: Inserted a floppy disk. Set the program's Source to the floppy disk drive. Set Destination to File . The user could then copy this DDI file to other floppy disks, by selecting the DDI file as their data source when using DiskDupe's duplication feature. Different versions of DiskDupe saved DDI files with different file headers. For example, version 5 saved DDI files with a variable, 1280 byte header, while version 7 saved DDI files with a fixed, 9216 byte header.

How to convert a DDI file
You can use the ddi2raw Python script (linked below) to convert a DDI file to an .IMG (Floppy Disk Image) file. You can then open the converted file as you would any IMG file.
