What is an IVS file? File used by Aircrack-ng and other WEP wireless network key cracking applications; contains initialization vectors ("IVs"), which are the seeds used for generating encrypted data on the network; processed by a cracking utility to get the WEP key for the network.

NOTE: Because of the weakness of WEP encryption, it has been replaced by other wireless network encryption protocols.
