A MIN file may also be a file used by various emulators of Pokemon Mini, a Pokemon-themed handheld game console released by Nintendo in 2001. It may contain a game ROM , which includes all the contents of a Pokemon Mini game, or BIOS firmware.

MIN files are used for the emulation of Pokemon Mini on a computer. Some examples of Pokemon Mini emulators include PokeMini, which can be used in Windows and Linux, and RetroPie, which can be used in Windows.
To install a ROM stored in a MIN file in RetroPie, place the ROM MIN file in the following path:
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/pokemini
To add BIOS firmware stored in a MIN file in RetroPie, place the BIOS MIN file in the following path:
/home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS
