What is an SCRIPA file? A SCRIPA file is an iOS app backup created by Scarlet, an App Store alternative for iOS devices. It contains an .IPA (iOS application) file and a user's app data. Scarlet users can create SCRIPA files to back up their app settings or game progress alongside an app's IPA file.

More Information Scarlet is an unofficial, third-party alternative to the iOS App Store. In addition to allowing a user to download and install iOS applications, by sideloading their IPA files, Scarlet includes many advanced features. One of these features is the ability to back up apps and their related data in SCRIPA files. For example, if a user has modified an app's settings, they might want to back up that app as a SCRIPA file. Doing so creates a copy of the app that retains their settings data, which the user can quickly reinstall and resume using (with their settings already in place) if needed. How to back up an app as a SCRIPA file To create a SCRIPA file, a Scarlet user must: Open Scarlet and select Modify IPA . Navigate to and select the IPA file for which they'd like to create a SCRIPA file. Select Enable Backup/Restore . Go to their Home screen, long-press the app , and select Backup . Scarlet will then create a SCRIPA file that contains the app's IPA file and the user's app data.
