An SFW file contains the placement of windows that make up a workspace layout in Sound Forge Pro, a digital audio editing program for Windows. Sound Forge Pro users create SFW files to preserve the different workspaces they use for different types of audio projects (saved in .FRG files).

SFW file open in MAGIX Sound Forge Pro 17
Sound Forge is an audio waveform editor for casual and professional users to record, edit, and analyze audio. The software provides various tools for your different kinds of projects.
You can access the default workspaces and various tools in the left pane of Sound Forge Pro. Additionally, select File → Workspace → Save As to save a workspace as an SFW file.
NOTE: Sonic Foundry initially developed Sound Forge Pro until Sony acquired it in 2003. Then, MAGIX acquired Sound Forge Pro in 2016.
How to open an SFW file
You can open SFW files with MAGIX Sound Forge Pro in Windows. For example, you can open an SFW workspace file by selecting File → Workspace → Open .
