Software Overview

Ability Office is an office suite, similar to Microsoft Office, for the Windows operating system. The suite is available as Ability Office or Ability Office Professional, which includes additional applications.

Ability Office is made up of the following applications:

The applications use their own file formats, which includes .AWW , .AWS , and .AWG , but can also open the popular .DOCX , .PPTX , and .XLSX files. The applications feature many of the same tools provided with the Microsoft Office applications. You can even switch between the traditional toolbar and the 2007 and 2010 Microsoft Office Ribbon style interfaces. You can also save your files to Dropbox directly from the Ability Office applications.

Ability Office is a much cheaper alternative to the Microsoft Office suite that features word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications. The Ability Office Professional edition also offers the Database and Photopaint applications. However, Apache OpenOffice and Libre Office are great substitutions for Microsoft Office as well, and are available for free. Therefore, you may want to look to those free solutions even though Ability Office is a solid option too.
