An AFF file may also be a chart file used by Arcaea, a rhythm-based video game. It defines the buttons a user must press while playing a level in Arcaea. AFF files are stored in level-specific directories within Arcaea, along with that level's .OGG audio file and .JPG cover file.

Arcaea is a video game in which players must press buttons in time to music. The game is developed by Lowiro and available for Android, iOS, and the Nintendo Switch.
Each Arcaea level consists of a song, saved as an OGG file, and one or more Arcaea charts, saved as AFF files. Typically, a level uses three AFF files, each of which corresponds to one of the level's difficulties (easy, medium, or hard). These files define the buttons a user must press in time to the song.
Some Arcaea modders use custom level creation tools to create their own AFF files. These files are often packaged within ARCOIDLEVEL archives, which are renamed .ZIP files.
How to open an AFF file
You can open an AFF file, to play and edit the chart it contains, with ArcCreate. ArcCreate is a fan-made version of Arcaea that includes a custom level editor. The level editor is available in the PC version of ArcCreate.
You can also use AffTools or ArcaeaChartRender to analyze and preview the chart an AFF file contains.

Disk image created in the Advanced Forensics Format (AFF), an open file format used to capture digital evidence for legal proceedings; can store both raw disk data and arbitrary metadata; supports two kinds of compression, zlib and LZMA.

An AFF file can be divided into a split archive of multiple files that use the .AFD file extension. Advanced Forensics Format programs can also extract metadata from the disk image and store it separately in an .AFM file.
Version 2 of the AFF specification also supports encryption.
