Choose the "RNA" sequence type Create the sequence Name the file Select OK After creating the RNA file, you can save it by selecting File → Save or Save As... . Then, after saving the file, you can close it and re-open it to modify the sequence further.

How to open an RNA file
You can open an RNA file with GSL Biotech SnapGene (multiplatform). To open an RNA file with SnapGene, select File → Open Files... . Since GSL Biotech introduced the RNA format when it released SnapGene 5.3, SnapGene versions earlier than 5.3 open RNA files as DNA files.
You can also open an RNA file with SnapGene Viewer (multiplatform). However, it does not provide the same extensive capabilities that SnapGene offers.
