What is an SMWT file? An SMWT file contains filter information used by Adobe InDesign, an application used to design page layouts for print and digital publishing. It stores filtering information required to export InDesign text and graphics to other file formats. SMWT files are similar to .SMRD files, which are used for importing text and graphics.
More Information SMWT files, like SMRD files, are actually folders. To view the files inside of a SMWT file, remove the ".smwt" extension and open the resulting folder. NOTE: The "WT" in SMWT stands for "writer," and the "RD" in the SMRD extension stands for "reader."
