A WCM file may also be a modem communication script used by Microsoft Works, a discontinued productivity suite for Windows. Works uses WCM files to establish a dial-up connection to the internet.
More Information
Users can run the script a WCM file contains via Microsoft Works Communications. In addition to using WCM files to connect to the internet, Works can use WCM files to start TTY, ANSI, or VT100 terminal sessions.
How to open a WCM file
If you want to view the script your WCM file contains, you can open it in Microsoft Notepad or any other text editor.
If you still have access to Microsoft Works , and you have a dial-up modem, you can use your WCM file to connect Microsoft Works to the internet. However, because Works is discontinued and dial-up modems are uncommon, you likely won't need or want to use your WCM file this way.
