A GLA file may also be an archive used by a Gameloft video game. It contains meshes, models, textures, or other game assets. Gameloft's The Dark Knight Rises, 9mm, and N.O.V.A. mobile games all use GLA files.

All Gameloft games that contain GLA files were developed using the Glitch game engine. While most players will never encounter a game's GLA files, modders and other interested parties have created tools that allow them to extract the assets that GLA files contain.
NOTE: Some Gameloft Archives use the .gla2 extension and file format. GLA2 files are compressed slightly differently than GLA files.
How to open a GLA file
You can use the QuickBMS extraction tool (Windows) and custom, player-created QuickBMS scripts to extract the game assets that a GLA file contains. You can then open and edit those assets in other associated programs and player-created tools.
