An NPT file may also be a schedule created by NetPoint, a program used to plan projects and schedules. It contains a schedule, which includes dates, colors, and timeline configuration. NPT files were replaced by .NP4 files, which were introduced in version 4 of NetPoint.

NPT files are used by versions 1, 2, and 3 of NetPoint to store schedules. Even though NPT files were replaced by NP4 files in version 4, NetPoint can open NPT files. The program can also create NPT files but they are created to store backups of schedules.
NetPoint is used for a variety of schedules and projects, such as a construction of a building, a development of a website, or events during a wedding day. You can analyze work tasks, schedule dates, organize activities, and layout yearlong plans.
