What is an RX2 file? An RX2 file is an audio loop created by ReasonStudios ReCycle and used by digital audio workstations ( DAWs ). It contains audio loop samples saved in ReasonStudios' proprietary REX2 format. The RX2 file format supports both mono and stereo audio, whereas the .REX format supports only mono.

Most importantly, the REX2 format allows audio producers to divide audio loops into "slices," using markers that denote a zero crossing in a waveform.
