More Information VICAR images were designed for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory's (JPL) unmanned planetary spacecraft. They were used during the 1970s and 1980s for the following missions: Mariner 9 to Mars, Mariner 10 to Mercury and Venus, Voyager to the outer planets.
