What is a PCLX file? A PCLX file is an animation project file created by Pencil2D, an open-source 2D animation application. It is a Zip-compressed file that contains an .XML file and a data folder used to load a project in Pencil2D. PCLX files can be opened in Pencil2D or decompressed to view their contents.

How to open a PCLX file
You can open a PCLX file in Pencil2D (cross-platform). To do so, select File → Open from the program's menu bar. Then, navigate to and open your PCLX file.
If necessary, you can also decompress a PCLX file to view the XML, PNG, and other files it contains. You can decompress a PCLX file using any Zip decompression utility, such as Corel WinZip (Windows), Apple Archive Utility (Mac), or PeaZip (Windows, Linux).
