What is a PDM file? Database created with Sybase PowerDesigner, an enterprise modeling and design program; stores database information as well as references to other files, such as the database definition ( .XDB ) file and model definition ( .XEM ) files.
More Information PDM files can also be opened with Quest Software's QDesigner, which was discontinued in 2006. NOTE: PowerDesigner was originally developed by Sybase, which was purchased by SAP.

A PDM file may also be a project created by Anvsoft Photo DVD Maker, a Windows program used to create photo slideshows and burn them to DVDs. It contains information about a slideshow project, including edits, the theme, and paths to images in the slideshow. PDM files also store metadata , such as the name of the project and names of albums in the project.

To open a PDM file in Photo DVD Maker, select File → Open . To create a PDM file in Photo DVD Maker, select File → Save or Save As... .
The PDM file allows you to save edits you make to the project when you close the program, then re-open the project for further editing. After making final edits to the PDM project, you may burn it to a DVD, export it to a Flash or MPEG video file, or upload it to the Internet.
NOTE: Since PDM files store the locations of images and audio loaded into the project, do not move the media files after loading them or you will have to load the media again.
