SpaceMonger Scan File

An SM file may also be a disk space analysis created by Stardock SpaceMonger, a hard drive storage space analyzer. It details how a user is utilizing their hard drive's storage. SM files are XML files, which appear as treemaps and other graphical analyses when opened in SpaceMonger.

Stardock SpaceMonger allows Windows PC users to map and analyze the files stored on their PC's hard drive. Users can also map and analyze the files stored on a network drive. The analyses that SpaceMonger produces appear in-program as treemaps, bar charts, and pie charts. However, the data SpaceMonger uses to show these analyses is actually XML text.

Users can save the results of their SpaceMonger scans as SM files. These files contain the XML data that SpaceMonger used to show the user's results.

You can open an SM file in StarDock SpaceMonger (Windows). You can also open an SM file in any text or source code editor, such as Microsoft Visual Studio Code (cross-platform) or GitHub Atom (cross-platform).
