What is a DAM file? Model file created with DeltaMaster, a front-end for OLAP databases used primarily for analyzing business data; stores all settings that are not to be redefined for the analysis of the same data.

Project file created by DAME (Deadly Alien Map Editor), a free Flash 2D map editor that uses the Flixel engine; saves game resources such as layers, sprite graphics, and object paths; used for exporting a tile map that can be used in a Flash game.

DAME projects can be exported to tile map resource files using the Lua programming language. For example, you can export .CSV , .XML , or ActionScript 3 (AS3) classes using Lua scripts, and the exported files can be loaded by a Flash game. Therefore, developers use DAME as a streamlined user interface to generate game maps.
NOTE: DAM files are stored in an XML format. Sprite graphics for the project are referenced in the XML markup and are not stored in the DAM file.
