Overview
What is an FRZ file? An FRZ file is a video game save state created by Snes9x, an emulator for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It contains a snapshot of a player's game progress. FRZ files are used to "freeze" and "defrost" emulated game states.
More Information Video game console emulators allow you to play console games on your PC. If you want to save your progress while playing a game in Snes9x, you can do so by selecting File → Save Game Position from the program's menu bar. This saves your current game state as an FRZ file. The Windows version of Snes9x saves FRZ files with numbered extensions .000 through .009 . These extensions correspond to the slot numbers listed on Snes9x's Load Game Position menu. If you intend to use an FRZ file with the Windows version of Snes9x, you must change its extension to .000 or another supported number. It is also possible to produce FRZ files without Snes9x. For example, Wii gamers who use Snes9xGX to play SNES games on their Wii consoles can save FRZ files, which can be transferred to the PC version of Snes9x. NOTE: Some versions of the Nestopia emulator also produce and open FRZ files.

Locked FormFlow File

An FRZ file may also be a locked form created by FormFlow, an electronic forms and document management tool often used by organizations. It contains an electronic form, likely business-related, that has been "locked" to prevent any modification. FormFlow is no longer developed, making FRZ files obscure.
More Information
FormFlow was initially known as PerForm, which Delrina developed in the early 1990s before changing the name to FormFlow. Symantec bought Delrina in 1995, and Jet Form acquired the FormFlow technology in 1996. JetForm eventually changed its name to Accelio and was later acquired by Adobe Systems in 2002, which phased out the software and format in favor of the .PDF format.
How to open an FRZ file
You can open FRZ files with Accelio FormFlow and Adobe LiveCycle Forms in Windows. However, both of the programs are discontinued.
