An EQN file contains an equation created for use in a Corel WordPerfect document. WordPerfect users create EQN files using the program's Equation Editor. Then, they can insert the equation the EQN file contains into a WordPerfect document.

Scientists, mathematicians, technical writers, and others may need to insert formatted equations into their WordPerfect documents ( .WPD files). To allow these users to easily create, edit, save, and load equations, WordPerfect includes an Equation Editor. To open the Equation Editor, users select:
Insert → Equation
After creating an equation in the Equation Editor, users can choose to save that equation as an EQN file (by selecting File → Save... from the Equation Editor window). They can then load their EQN file in the Equation Editor at a later time, to quickly insert the equation the file contains into a document.
How to open an EQN file
You can open an EQN file with Corel WordPerfect (Windows). To do so, open WordPerfect's Equation Editor ( Insert → Equation ). Then, select File → Open... from the Equation Editor to open your EQN file.
