What is a PAD file? Shortcut file used by the ACT! customer relationship management (CRM) software; contains a pointer to the actual ACT! database files, which are stored in .ADF and .ALF files; often used as a desktop shortcut for opening the database.

A PAD file contains a Pad rhythm for various Korg PA keyboard models, such as the PA1X and 800 models. It contains a musical rhythm in a proprietary format and is similar to a Korg Style ( .STY file) but only stores one recorded track, not multiple. Korg users primarily play PAD files on a keyboard but may view them with KORG PA Manager on their computer.
