A PEZ file may also be a Zipped chart file created by Re:PhiEdit (version 1.5 and later), a community-developed chart editor for the rhythm game Phigros. It stores the data needed to define a playable chart, including note timing, placement, and chart structure. The Phigros community (chart creators and modders) introduced the PEZ format to replace the older .PEC format, designing it to bundle all required chart data into a single file for easier management and sharing.

Specifically, a PEZ file is a ZIP-based container that commonly includes a .PNG illustration, an .MP3 , .WAV , or .OGG audio file, a .JSON chart file, and a chart info .TXT file. Re:PhiEdit uses this format to support newer features and workflows while reducing issues that occurred when charts were stored as multiple separate files. Because of this, PEZ became the standard chart format for newer versions of Re:PhiEdit and related tools.
How to open a PEZ file
You can open PEZ files with various apps, including cmdysj Re:PhiEdit (version 1.5 and later), happymimimix Ex-PhiEdit, Team Flos Phira, and PhiTogether. For example, to open a PEZ file with Re:PhiEdit or Ex-PhiEdit, select Import Chart .
Since the format is ZIP-based, archive utilities can also open the file to view its contents, but proper editing and playback require compatible Phigros-related software.
