Real Tracker Sample

An RTS file may also be an audio sample used by Real Tracker, a discontinued digital music tracker program for DOS . It contains a single sound sample, such as an instrument tone or drum hit, that a user can use to create music within the Real Tracker environment. Each sample contains the raw audio data that musicians arrange and modify when building songs in the tracker.

More Information

Musicians and hobbyists used Real Tracker in the 1990s to compose music on personal computers, especially for demos and games. Now, the software is discontinued, and RTS files have become obscure.

RTS files are typically not used independently. Instead, they are packaged inside Real Tracker Instrument ( .RTI ) files, which define how the sample is played, including parameters such as volume, looping, and pitch. These instruments are then combined into Real Tracker Module ( .RTM ) files, which store complete songs composed of multiple instrument and sample tracks.

How to open an RTS file

You can open RTS files with Real Tracker in Windows. However, the software is discontinued.
