Software Overview
Oracle VM VirtualBox is a virtualizer that is installed on an existing operating system as an application. The application can then run one or more separate operating systems that are contained within their own virtual environment.
VM VirtualBox can virtualize computer hardware and software in a couple of ways. It can perform software-only virtualization, allowing it to be used on computers with older hardware. VirtualBox can also virtualize devices such as hard disks which can be emulated in a "Virtual Disk Image" format, VMware Virtual Machine Disk Format, and Microsoft Virtual PC VHD format.
If you need to test computer projects in different conditions being able to use virtual environments may be very beneficial to you. VM VirtualBox is free for personal use but if you are using it for commercial purposes you must purchase a license from Oracle.
