A BIX file may also be a video file created by select Kodicom closed-circuit TV (CCTV) cameras and digital video recorders (DVRs). It contains video data in the proprietary Kodicom format and accompanies a BOX file, which stores audio data for the footage.

How to convert a BIX file
The Kodicom DVR included with the purchase of the CCTV equipment can export the BIX and BOX files storing the video and audio to the more widely supported .AVI format.
