A GRV file may also be a game data archive used by a 3D Groove Engine video game. It contains DLLs and game assets. For example, a GRV file may contain .3GM and .GSC files.
More Information
In the late 1990s and the 2000s, The Groove Alliance used the 3D Groove Engine to develop many licensed video games (as well as some original games). Many of these games were hosted on third-party arcade websites, such as NickArcade and Disney.com. Others, such as Mountain Dew Skateboarding, Pringles Pony Express, and Jack Daniel's Real Pool, were one-off games used to advertise a product.
3D Groove Engine games store their assets in GRV archives. These compressed archives contain a game's textures, models, sounds, and other data.
NOTE: GRV files are also referred to as Groove World Files.
