What is an SKR file? An SKR file is a private keyring created by PGP Desktop Home, data encryption software used to secure a user's confidential digital information. It contains ASCII private keys used for decrypting PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) encrypted files.
More Information When PGP encrypts files PKR (public keyring) and SKR (private keyring) files are created to store the keys, or passphrase, used to decrypt the encrypted files. In Windows, these keyring files are stored in the "PGP" folder of your "My Documents" folder. NOTE: PGP Desktop Home is no longer developed.
