What is an ART60 file? An ART60 file is an embroidery design created by BERNINA ARTlink (version 6 or later), an embroidery viewing and exporting application. It contains design information, such as object stitch outlines, thread colors, a preview thumbnail image, and other metadata .

But beginning with version 5 of ARTlink, the software saves designs with file extensions that reflect the version of the software. For example, ARTlink 5 saves designs as .ART50 files, and ARTlink 7 saves designs as .ART70 files. How do I create an ART60 file? To create an ART60 file with ARTlink, select File → Save or Save As... and choose ART60 from the "Save as type" dropdown menu. When finished with the design, you can export it to an embroidery format supported by the sewing machine that you want to use to stitch the design onto the fabric. How do I convert an ART60 file? To export an ART60 file to another format with ARTlink, select File → Export Machine File... , then choose the format. Conversion options include .ART , .EXP , .PES , .JEF , .SEW , .PEC , .VP3 , .VIP , .HUS , and .SHV . After converting the design, insert a USB storage device in your computer, then transfer the converted design file to the connected storage device via File Explorer in Windows or Finder in macOS. You can also transfer the file to a connected storage device directly from within ARTlink by selecting File → Write to Card/Machine... . After transferring the file, eject the storage device from your computer and insert it into the sewing machine. Then, transfer the design to the machine and embroider it onto the material.
