What is a REDDITVAULT file? A REDDITVAULT file is an encrypted backup of a Reddit Vault user's recovery phrase. It contains JSON-formatted plain text, which lists the recovery phrase's encryption type and the encrypted version of the phrase. Reddit Vault users can use REDDITVAULT files to access their Vault, in the event they forget or lose access to their recovery phrase.

How to open a REDDITVAULT file
To use a REDDITVAULT file to regain access to your Reddit Vault wallet, open Reddit Vault in the Android or iOS Reddit apps and begin creating a wallet. When you do, you'll see an option to use your Recovery Phrase to recover your wallet. Use that option to load the phrase saved in your REDDITVAULT file.
If necessary, you can use Microsoft Notepad , Apple TextEdit , or any other text editor to view the text your REDDITVAULT file contains. However, as the Recovery Phrase that a REDDITVAULT file contains is encrypted, opening it in a text editor is not especially useful.
