VSP files can be very large in file size. Therefore, developers sometimes save report summary files ( .VSPS extension) from their VSP files so they can reduce the storage requirement. However, note that the VSPS file does not contain all of the data stored in a VSP file, since it contains a report summary.
NOTE: Visual Studio 2011 introduced the .VSPX format, which replaces the .VSP format.
