More Information OptImage is a disc image format designed for the Philips- and Sony-developed CD-i platform as a standard for storing data copied from CD-i discs. The format supports the entire data structure of a disc, which is helpful for archiving or emulating CD-i applications. NOTE: Philips and Sony discontinued CD-i development in 1998, which led to OptImage becoming obscure.

A CD file may also be a disc image saved in the proprietary OptImage Compact Disc Interactive (CD-i) format. It contains an exact duplicate of the contents from an interactive multimedia CD-i disc, including data, file structure, and copy protection information.
