More Information D3MD files are designed for use with a repository called DART, a digital asset and reference trust. It stores digital assets as well as references to files contained in other repositories. DART serves as a “trust” of digital assets and/or references to digital assets that an organization intends to use for future gain. DART and other applications such as Parrot can generate D3MD files. NOTE: DART stands for Digital Asset and Reference Trust. The file extension ".D3MD" is short for "DART metadata."
