How to create a VMWAREVM file with VMware Fusion
To create a VMWAREVM file, select File → New... or click + in the Virtual Machine Library window. You can then choose to install an OS from a disc or image, recovery partition, Boot Camp, or import an existing virtual machine, which includes Parallels Virtual Machine ( .PVM ) files.
How to open a VMWAREVM file
You can open a VMWAREVM file with VMware Fusion in macOS. To open a VMWAREVM file with Fusion, click + in the Virtual Machine Library window, select Import... , then click Choose File... . You can also select File → New... , choose "Import an existing virtual machine," then click Choose File... .
You can also place your VMWAREVM file in the folder you set as the default location for storing virtual machines (the Fusion default location is Macintosh HD/Users/[username]/Virtual Machines ). Then, open Fusion and choose the VMWAREVM file in the Virtual Machine Library window you added.
