How to open a CMTP file
You can open a CMTP file to patch it into Super Mario 64 with CometCHAR. To patch a CMTP file, open your legal Z64 ROM file in CometCHAR, open the CMTP patch file, choose the save location and name of the new Z64 ROM file, then select Patch .
After patching the Z64 file, you can now open and play Super Mario 64 with the patched modification with a Nintendo 64 emulator that supports Z64 files, such as Project64 or Mupen64.
