DefleMask Module

A DMF file may also be an audio tracker module created by DefleMask, a multiplatform chiptune music tracker. It contains a set of notes as well as instruments and effects that specify how those notes are played. DMF files are compressed using zlib compression .
More Information
DefleMask is a music tracker that allows you to create music for retro video game consoles, such as the Sega Genesis and Nintendo Game Boy. To create music, you arrange a series of notes across multiple channels. You can then apply instruments and other effects to those channels, to control how notes are played.
By default, DefleMask saves songs in the DMF format. DMF files contain a record of the notes a song contains, any instruments and effects applied to those notes, and any audio patterns and PCM samples the song includes. It also contains a record of the console upon which the song is meant to be played.
How to open a DMF file
You can open a DMF file with DefleMask (multiplatform) or Furnace (multiplatform), to play and edit the song it contains. For example, to open a DMF file with DefleMask, select File → Open from the program's menu bar. Then, navigate to and open your DMF file.
How to convert a DMF file
You can use DefleMask to convert the audio a DMF file contains to the .VGM (Video Game Music), .WAV (WAVE Audio), or .ROM (Read Only Memory Image) format.
