What is an EV3E file? An EV3E file is an experiment by LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3, an application that enables you to build and program LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 robots. It contains information about an experiment users load onto an EV3 Brick to test LEGO robots, such as configuration settings (e.g., experiment duration, data-loggin intervals from sensors, and the sensors to collect data from). EV3E files are included in .EV3E projects.

How to open an EV3E file
You can open EV3E files with the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 (Home and Education versions) in Windows or macOS. For example, to open an EV3E file, select File → Add Experiment .
To view EV3E files in a project, click the wrench icon at the top-left of the Project screen in the application. You can also click Import at the bottom of the window to open EV3E files from this screen.
