An FD file may also be a disk image used by the IBochs PC Emulator for Android. It contains a copy of a floppy disk's contents, which can be loaded in IBochs. IBochs comes with one included FD file, named FREEDOS.FD .

More Information

IBochs is an Android port of the Bochs PC emulator. It allows users to emulate various operating systems on their Android devices.

To load an operating system or other data, users can save that data as an FD file. Users can then load the data using IBochs' virtual floppy disk drive. For example, IBochs uses FREEDOS.FD to load the FreeDOS operating system upon initial startup. After using an FD file to load data, users can write that data to an IBochs .HD file.

NOTE: Users can rename other floppy disk image files (such as .IMG files) to use the .fd extension to use them with IBochs.

How to open an FD file

You can open an FD file with IBochs PC Emulator (Android). If you are using an FD file to boot an operating system:

IBochs will load the operating system your FD file contains.
