It stores settings that configure the behavior and appearance of Free Download Manager, including the number of maximum connections per server, the maximum upload and download speeds, and the app theme and window size. Free Download Manager users export and import FDS files to share or preserve settings.

Free Download Manager is a cross-platform utility that allows you to download files from the Internet, adjust traffic usage, control priorities for torrents , organize downloads, and more. To allow you to customize the capabilities of the app and its appearance, Free Download Manager provides preferences you can configure and also enables you to export and import them as a settings file.

For example, in the Windows version of Free Download Manager, you can choose the preferences by clicking the three-line hamburger icon in the upper-right corner and then selecting Preferences . Additionally, to export the settings, click the three-line hamburger icon, select Export/Import , and then click Export settings .
