What is a KON file? A KON file contains code in the XML standard for a Yahoo! widget ( .WIDGET file), a small program run by the Yahoo! Widget Engine. It stores code that defines the objects that make up the widget, such as buttons and images. Examples of widgets include clocks, calendars, countdown timers, and weather forecasters.

KON files are now obscure since Yahoo! discontinued the software. KON file location in a WIDGET file You can find KON files packaged with WIDGET files in their "Contents" folder. The KON file is located in the same location as a "Resources" folder that stores resource files, such as images and .JS files the KON file references. NOTE: The KON file bears the same as the widget.
