What is a PYXEL file? Image file created and used by Pyxel Edit, a pixel art drawing application that can create images and animations; contains a pixel image with one or more image layers made up of tiles.
More Information The PYXEL file format uses Zip compression. You can rename the ".pyxel" extension to ".zip" and unzip the file. When extracting the contents there will be a folder that contains .PNG tile and layer files and a .JSON file with information, such as colors, settings, layers, and tiles, that describes the PYXEL file. NOTE: Pyxel Edit can export a PYXEL image to the PNG, JPEG, and GIF formats.
