What is a CBG file? File used by ChessBase, a program used for reviewing played chess games; saves the data for the moves made on the chess board and can include data from multiple matches; saved as one of several files that together comprise the chess database.
More Information ChessBase opens and closes databases using .CBH , .CBV , and .CBZ files. While CBV and CBZ files contain all of the database files in a single archive (including the CBG file), CBH files only contain header information and require the other database files for the database to open correctly.

A CBG file may also be a network bandwidth data file created by Neon Software CyberGauge, a program for monitoring device and bandwidth utilization. It contains data collected from network devices, such as routers and servers. Neon Software no longer develops CyberGauge.
More Information
Before being discontinued, CyberGauge was released in the 1990s and used throughout the 2000s. It came with tools for monitoring devices and visualizing and analyzing usage reports. It worked with SNMP-enabled devices, including routers, gateways, printers, and servers. CyberGauge saved data as CBG files that users could archive or share with other users.
How to open a CBG file
You can only open CBG files with Neon Software CyberGauge. However, Neon Software no longer develops CyberGauge.
